There’s a Wonderland waiting to be discovered on Birmingham’s Southern most fringe and the great thing about this tour is that once you reach it’s start, you can leave your car and walk it to get the full frosty feel of Christmas.
First, wait until it’s properly dark (rumour has it the lights don’t get turned on until relatively late). Gather hats, coats and scarves, then drive down the A441 Redditch Road out of Kings Norton.

Some Glenwood Road residents
You’ll spot a few houses on your way but the action really starts once you turn right onto Glenwood Road. Here we recommend you park up. The locals seem friendly and you’ll want to take in these displays in your own time. Glenwood and Heathleigh Roads combine to form a circle. You will notice a dozen or so houses on these two roads have been reviewed but we could have reviewed many more. These two roads seems to have developed their own style. They are big on tiny lights, often multi coloured, often inside windows, often wrapped around trees and in hedges.
This is a real community effort. Obviously there a number of highly committed houses on these roads but it’s the combined effect of so many houses chipping in that makes this whole short walk so delightful. You can walk either way round, we’re all for freedom of choice at HoHoHo. When we visited they seemed to have turned enormous fog machine on to give it all an extra touch of magic.

The Rednal Road finale
Once you find yourselves back at the car, rather than returning the way you came why not leave via Heathleigh Road, turn left onto Rednal Road and treat yourself to a grand finale display!
