Roll over Santa

Mrs Sherwin (known, perhaps understandably, by her children, grandchildren and neighbours as Mrs Christmas) has been bringing cheer to her Kingstanding street for the last 40 years - a true festive veteran. People even post her Christmas letters, which she will reply to with her customary sparkle. Should Santa want to take a well earned retirement Mrs Sherwin is clearly the ideal replacement.

The red room

Her display is colourful and fun and features that amazing Santa waving from the front room window. First time passers-by have a tendency to jump out of their skins when they see the figure bathed in red light waving out at them, but they soon get used to him.

Long may she reign.

It seems that Mrs Christmas has little choice but to carry on providing this fun every year, as she has to satisfy the demands of her children, grandchildren and elderly neighbours. Added to all that are a fair few family birthdays in December that add to the need for celebration. 

So fear not, it looks like the man in red will be waving out at us for a good few years to come.
